“Art does not reproduce what we see. It makes us see.”  Paul Klee

ABOUT MY APPROACH TO PAINTINGS: I base my paintings on emphatic observations of the world around me. I try to capture the realism of the subject but also the emotional and psychological undertones. I believe that representational work shouldn’t  be  just about mountains, trees , and buildings. When I look at a object that I paint, I don’t see just form, I try to see the energy of the scene, the “vibration” on the  emotional level. I try to project my empathic association into the object. I agree with Lipps and Aesthetics (see my blog>>) that we are capable of projecting our feeling into the subject that we can experience aesthetically.
